Sagamore Hill

SagamoreOne

As most people already know Sagamore Hill was the home of Theodore Roosevelt the 26th American President. I was planning to post a series of photos of the main home but unfortunately when I arrived at Sagamore Hill I learned the main house was off limits due to extensive renovations so I had to take a photo from the only angle I could get with a telephoto lens.

SagamoreThree

This is an image of the windmill that was used to drive a steel cable that operated a pump for water delivery into the home.

SagamoreFour

Here is an image of the steel cable going through the roof of the pump house which is completely underground except for the roof.

SagamoreTwo

A copy of newspaper from May 1905 explaining how much President Roosevelt loved his Long Island home.

The Concert For New York City

This is a 28 minute four song set from one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever – The Who. These songs were performed at “The Concert For New York City” at Madison Square Garden on October 20th 2001 shortly after the September 11th 2001 tragedy. Unfortunately it was also one of John Entwistle’s (bass Player) last performances before his death.

I hope you have the time to listen to all four songs and enjoy.
