Those of us who ride, love doing so on days when the sun is shining and the skies are clear,  no matter the temperature. Sometimes though, the day turns stormy, and we’re forced to pull over and wait out the rain. Once the clouds part, we’re on the road again, knowing that, in time, the wind will have us dry once again.

If you’ve visited Life on the Bike and Other Fab Things, you know that I love to seek new adventures while riding my motorcycle. In fact, the whole reason I started blogging was to be able to share my travels with family and friends who worried about me heading out on my own.  I’ve long been the one who uses photography to document the events in the lives of my friends and family, and it’s a natural fit to take the camera along with me on the…

THE ICE CREAM MAN IS COMING !

IceCream

First of all let me apologize for yelling in the title of this post, but I get excited when I see this guy. Now I know there are some of you out there who know him.

IceCreamFour

Those were the days when the Good Humor man would drive around the neighborhoods ringing his bell and all the kids would be chasing the truck. I really think he didn’t stop immediately to make us work a little for our ice cream, LOL. When he would finally stop he would get out of the truck dressed in white with his bow tie and hat (even if it was 105 degrees out).

IceCreamThree

Those were the days when the most expensive thing he sold was 25 cents. I was at a local car show over the weekend and I came across this wonderful old 1960 Ford Good Humor ice cream truck and it brought back some great memories.

IceCreamTwo

Now if I could only find an old Bungalow Bar truck !

Flower I

SS 1/60   f10.0   ISO 400

This image was taken last week during a trip to Grand Cayman Island.  I found the flower on the ground when visiting the Botanical Garden and placed it on a fence railing to photograph it.  I am not quite sure what the name of this flower is, but am thinking it must be in either the anemone or daisy families.

Monochromia appears to be off to a fabulous start.  I am thrilled to be part of this endeavor and honored to have been selected by Joe from The Visual Chronicle to be part of this creative and inspiring group of artists.

This is the first time I’ve posted to Monochromia so please let me introduce myself.  My name is Robyn and I am from the Northeastern portion of the United States.  I have been interested in photography since childhood but only began working…

b&w-hay-field

I was on a walk after the rain and noticed this magical wonderland of droplets.

This is my first post here, so a short introduction…

I’m Elina, an Estonian living in Finland. My journey in photography started about a year ago when I got my first Digital SLR camera and felt I was finally able to capture things the way I had always wanted to.

Taking photos has become an important part of my life and something I really enjoy. It’s fun to see what and how I manage to capture and create. But I feel my photos become “alive” and get a special meaning after they have spoken to someone else.

Bit by bit I’ve started to get an idea of black and white photography and enjoy it a lot. Sometimes colors are too much and removing them helps to see the message or mood in the photo more…
