    • Actually it’s a state park which happens to be right on the north shore of Long Island Laurie. It’s called Sunken Meadow State Park. The north shore beaches have more of a rocky terrain and the south shore beaches have the fine sand and flat terrain as you would see in Florida. This is about 20 minutes from where I live just as the south shore beaches are. I live right in the middle of the island and north and south shores.

    Now this is my kind of beach. I don’t necessarily like to sun bathe. But taking a walk on a beach like this with the sounds of the waves and seagulls would be great. 25 years living in Nassau County and I never got to Sunken Meadow.
