  1. That looks like the kind of walk I would love to take 🙂

Your photos are always a treat Joe. I’ve taken enough pictures on our hikes to know how difficult it is to capture that light and shadow combination well. I’m still working on it 😉 In the meantime, I’ll simply admire yours.

    • Thank you so much Joanne 🙂 A little tip – I usually underexpose my images or “expose for the highlights” any where from -1/3 to -1 1/2 stops by using the exposure compensation dial. Of course the camera has to be set to either aperture or shutter priority to do this (no full automatic). I then recover shadow detail in post processing 🙂

      • Thanks for the tip. I’ve been playing with exposure adjustments the past couple of days to see where it takes me under certain conditions.
I’m learning the only way to get better is to experiment and practice … although remembering what I did is turning out to be a new challenge 😉

  2. Joe, when I see pictures like these, I wish I could return and see the miracle of Nature once more. A feast to the eyes and a lift to the spirit in the midst of the madness that often surrounds us. Thank you.
