Growing up in Kansas this reminds of one we had in the backyard. I always hated having to mow around it. One year we had to dig it up because there was a snake pit down at the base. Now living in Wisconsin I have never seen one in anyone’s yard. I always find it interesting that you don’t have to go to another country when living in the US to see a different culture. Sometimes you just need to drive to the other side of the state or even go across the border to another state.
