This is an awesome performance of “Pride and Joy” live at Montreux in 1982 by the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan. I can’t think of a better way to start a week off and I hope you enjoy.

Great video of one of the greats. I saw SRV live at Shryock Auditorium in Carbondale, Illinois, in February 1984. (A quick search tells me that it was February 11, 1984.) Shryock is relatively small (1,214 seats) and was designed for plays–and, sadly, SRV overdrove it very, very badly. The auditorium was almost empty, and my girlfriend and I kept retreating back and back away from the stage. The sound was just mud. I had “Texas Flood,” but I could barely tell what songs he was playing.
A few weeks later we saw B. B. King at Shryock. His sound was magnificent.

Thats really a shame that he overdrove the auditorium Daniel. What I would give to hear him now. Have a great day Daniel.

One of the greats, nothing rocked harder than Stevie in full flight, with Double Trouble holding down the beat š I havent listened to him in ages. Time to dust of some CD’s š
