This is another example of the wonderful architecture the city of Philadelphia has to offer. City Hall is an all stone building with no metal support structure. It was the tallest building in Philadelphia for many years and a 30 foot statue of William Penn stands atop this building.

What an amazing and beautiful building! That yellow clock looks so great up there! Lovely photo Joe!

I lucked out on this shot Elina because I was standing in the middle of the street and there was a break in the traffic. It was just getting dark enough to see them illuminate the clock.

We were there for 2 days Laurie and it really was a great trip. The weather was gorgeous and the people were great π We did a lot of walking when we first got there but then we rented a Zipcar for a couple of hours to get around (a Mini Cooper which was a blast).

Thank you Martha π The building took 30 years to complete with all the statues and there is also no steel structure. The building is all stone. Have a great day π
