I believe this is one of the abandoned buildings from the Central Islip Mental Institution. They are in very close proximity to the New York Institute of Technology in Central Islip which is on the old mental institution grounds.
The vines seem to be in charge these days. I hope you enjoy.

These photos are almost like paintings… those vines are amazing, and seem to be taking over the whole building. π Great photos Joe!

Great photos both. And I especially like the second. The dominion of the weed!

Domination of the weed ? Sounds like a late 60’s movie the theaters played after “Reefer Madness”, LOL. Thank you again Daniel, have a great evening π

Oh wow, your last photo says it all ! Forgotten and abandoned, just like the souls that use to reside there, very poignant.
It’s a shame that such a handsome building not be in use. I especially love the brick work around the round and hexagon windows and the symmetry of the design. That’d make a fabulous home renovated.

Thank you very much π it is a niece looking building but it’s a bit too spooky around there to renovate into a home. This building from a previous post is on the same grounds – https://joeinfocus.wordpress.com/2014/03/14/weekly-photo-challenge-inside
