At first glance this lush green hill looks like another rural Long Island landscape. In actuality it’s smack in the middle of an industrial park. It’s a land reclamation project that was started years ago at a closed landfill. The pipeline in the foreground carries any methane gas from the underground layers of decaying trash to a processing plant where it is used to power the reclamation facility.
