1932 Ford Coupe

DeuceRod

This deuce coupe is a little “in your face” but thats the beautiful part about the hot rod hobby, you can make them as wild as you want.

DeuceRodTwo

A little peek of the air filter on the small block Chevy engine.

DeuceRodThree

This one also has the more classic approach to hanging the mirrors compared to yesterday’s deuce coupe.

DeuceRodFour

And of course the beautifully finished dashboard and interior. I hope you enjoy.

My name is Meho and I am a bench player here at Monochromia so I will be posting less often. I am very exited to be part of this group of bloggers. I would like to thank Joseph for the time he has put into making this blog a reality and the effort to gather everyone.

This is my debut to Monochromia. This photo was taken in Acadie, New-Brunswick. This is exactly at Miscou Island (google maps). This is a picture from the stairs of this old Lighthouse. I like the angle on this picture and the deep shadows and blacks.

I’ve always been impressed  Lighthouses. They are symbolic to a bygone era.

I was introduced to photography for the first time in the late 1980’s with my father’s old Minolta 35mm. Even at this young age, I was passionate about photography.  Later I decided to study photography…

She’s My Little Deuce Coupe

DeuceCoupe

This is one of my favorite year hot rods the 1932 Ford Coupe and I always think of the Beach Boys tune “Little Deuce Coupe” when I see one.

DeuceCoupeTwo

This particular car is chopped. If you notice in the first photo the yellow deuce coupe in the background has a taller windshield. The avid hot rodders back in the day used to cut the roof off and take a few inches off the roof supports then weld it back on. Of course this meant fabricating new windows to go along with the custom metal work but it was with the effort because of the better looks they attained.

DeuceCoupeThree

When she’s all finished you have a great example of the classic “Little Deuce Coupe”. This particular one was for sale also, hmmm. I hope you enjoy.

Those of us who ride, love doing so on days when the sun is shining and the skies are clear,  no matter the temperature. Sometimes though, the day turns stormy, and we’re forced to pull over and wait out the rain. Once the clouds part, we’re on the road again, knowing that, in time, the wind will have us dry once again.

If you’ve visited Life on the Bike and Other Fab Things, you know that I love to seek new adventures while riding my motorcycle. In fact, the whole reason I started blogging was to be able to share my travels with family and friends who worried about me heading out on my own.  I’ve long been the one who uses photography to document the events in the lives of my friends and family, and it’s a natural fit to take the camera along with me on the…

THE ICE CREAM MAN IS COMING !

IceCream

First of all let me apologize for yelling in the title of this post, but I get excited when I see this guy. Now I know there are some of you out there who know him.

IceCreamFour

Those were the days when the Good Humor man would drive around the neighborhoods ringing his bell and all the kids would be chasing the truck. I really think he didn’t stop immediately to make us work a little for our ice cream, LOL. When he would finally stop he would get out of the truck dressed in white with his bow tie and hat (even if it was 105 degrees out).

IceCreamThree

Those were the days when the most expensive thing he sold was 25 cents. I was at a local car show over the weekend and I came across this wonderful old 1960 Ford Good Humor ice cream truck and it brought back some great memories.

IceCreamTwo

Now if I could only find an old Bungalow Bar truck !

Flower I

SS 1/60   f10.0   ISO 400

This image was taken last week during a trip to Grand Cayman Island.  I found the flower on the ground when visiting the Botanical Garden and placed it on a fence railing to photograph it.  I am not quite sure what the name of this flower is, but am thinking it must be in either the anemone or daisy families.

Monochromia appears to be off to a fabulous start.  I am thrilled to be part of this endeavor and honored to have been selected by Joe from The Visual Chronicle to be part of this creative and inspiring group of artists.

This is the first time I’ve posted to Monochromia so please let me introduce myself.  My name is Robyn and I am from the Northeastern portion of the United States.  I have been interested in photography since childhood but only began working…
