This is the interior of St. Paul’s Chapel a church built in 1766. It is the only colonial era church still standing in Manhattan. St. Paul’s Chapel is located in lower Manhattan directly across the street from where the Twin Towers once stood and was left unscathed after the horrific September 11th terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers.

  1. Dear Joe
In comparison to old churches such young churches from the middle of the 18th c. are here quite light as well. They are usually Methodists chapels beause most of the seamen and fishermen here were Methodists.
    Well photographed. Thanks for sharing

    • Thank you Klausbernd. Compared to European churches St. Paul’s is indeed a young structure. St. Paul’s Chapel is a chapel building of Trinity Church which is an episcopal parish.
