When I attended the 2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade there was one mermaid who stood out from the rest of the crowd. That mermaid was Terri Claire, an educator in the NYC School system who has just retired at the close of this school year. Little did I know we would meet again at another event later in the year and become friends. Since then we have done a few photoshoots, got published in Gothesque magazine and had a lot of laughs along the way. I couldn’t wait for this years Mermaid Parade to see what costume she would show up in. Oh did I mention Terri is also a model ? You can check out her website at www.ivyleagueink.com
Psst… Please no comments about her ears she is very sensitive about them 🙂
As usual you’ve worked magic with your camera.
Is there a story behind this annual mermaid parade?

Thank you so much Joanne 😀 The Coney Island Mermaid Parade signifies the summer solstice and celebrates art, artists and sun worshippers. Each year there is a new King Neptune chosen. This year it was Arlo Guthrie (couldn’t manage to get a shot of him though).

Wow! So colorful and I love her beach theme! She matches my Master Bath, also the beach theme. Beautiful artistry!
