This is one of the main buildings at the abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Facility. I hope you enjoy.

Enough rooms to shoot at least one hundred low budget horror movies. Great capture.

Really great shot Joe, I love the way you’ve framed it and included the tree and sky! The building is huge! I wonder why was it abandoned.

Thank you Elina 🙂 For some reason most all of the psychiatric facilities on Long Island have been shut down with the exception of Pilgrim State facility which has been downsized. I really don’t know the answer why but I do know that they were all state owned and the buildings along with the properties are immense. What really gets me is how the kids got up to the very top of these buildings to paint graffiti (if you look at an enlarged view at the right and left sides on top of the buildings you will see it).

Oh wow, yes I see the graffiti now. Creepy to think of kids going up there.

Here is a link to some information on building 93 at Kings Park Elina. It is also said to be haunted as per a google search on Kings Park Psychiatric.

Exceptional photo Joe…I love the angle you have chosen…looking up at those dark moody skies make it appear very sinister.

Thank you James, when I first loaded the image into the computer it just didn’t look right so I had to convert it to black and white to look as you say sinister 🙂
