This is the bay so there is no swimming permitted in this particular area. Thats why they lined it with old broken up concrete because there is erosion during storms Kelly. There are some areas like town beaches where the waterfront is just beach sand. The real erosion is south of the barrier island (Fire island) where the waves of the Atlantic Ocean pound the shore every day.
Storms are some of my favorite things! The contrast of the light and the dark here captures that stormy mood so well, Joe.
