Fuji X-T2 and XF 18-55 LM OIS Lens – 1/125 @ f/5.6 – ISO 200

This is a casual portrait I took of the legendary street photographer Louis Mendes at the 2018 Coney Island Mermaid Parade. If you live in the NYC area you probably have met him.  Thank you Louis for being a gentleman.

  1. I love the image. The camera he’s holding, and the hat he’s wearing kind of gives it a vintage look. It was nice that you took the time to photograph the photographer after all the work he had done photographing other people. I’m curious about that camera. I’m sure you were too!

    • Thank you very much Joanne 🙂 Louis is usually the one who is taking other peoples photos but the expression on his face is just Louis being Louis. I had just got done having a conversation with him (along with Monochromia contributor Mel who is apprenticing under Louis) and I asked him if I could take a photo of him and this is the result. Not only is he a stylish dresser he’s also a great guy.
