Fuji X30 – 1/105 @ f/8.0 – ISO 100
I always thought all bonsai were types of juniper or evergreen but once again I was wrong. This one was just starting to form new buds.

Very nice portrait of this bonsai! The light filtering in is perfect and lends to the grace of this beautiful exotic tree! I had one given to me once but it requires dedicated attention of which I obviously did not give it. It croaked….oh well…. so much for that!

Fantastic balance between light and dark! I love it. Are these trees difficult to grow?

Thank you Emilio 🙂 I never tried to grow one of these but if my luck with other plants is any indication I shouldn’t try.

The shadows are of course, great, and that beam of light running down the wall adds to the whole image.

The shadows of the branches below and the light streaming in really make the shot, Joe. Nice work.

What a great shot. I always marveled at what Japananese are able to do with these miniature trees. Absolutely amazing!

Superb shot Joe – is this one yours? I tried to grow one once, but like most things I touch it died 😦

Thank you Jim 😀 This was on display at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with a bunch of other bonsai. I’m like you I could kill artificial flowers, LOL.
