I had a really nice conversation with Jerry and Mary the other day. We talked about a number of things including the hardships of the past when they both were forced into the residential school system – which is a dismal part of Canadian history. Mary also told me about her son, who died several years ago while trying to save another man who was drowning. A lighter point in the conversation came when I asked if they were married to which Mary shouted “Married! He’s my 2nd cousin!”. (M240 / 50f2 / iso2000)
