I can’t even imagine what kind of pain and suffering these patients went thorough until recent formulations of modern medicine to treat mental illness.

Great photo. I once spent some time working in a psychiatric institute back in 1980. Those images have stayed with me and they are not pleasant. Thank goodness for modern medicine and attitudes. π

Thank you very much, back then it must have been depressing to see the treatments.

Very much so. No wonder there was so much stigma attached to ‘mental illnesses’. Even now there is still a lot to be done to change these attitudes.

He really is a great actor and that movie is good also. Was it that bad at work, is that what you mean?

It was like working with a bunch of mental midgets and babies. Nobody worried about what they were doing it always boiled down to why is Joe allowed to do this, I’m not allowed do that. They were more worried about what I was doing rather than themselves which to me indicated that they did not have enough work to do π

The color takes the sting out of what is truly a place of pain and suffering. The broken glass and rusted bars give us a clue.

Again with the rust and the brick and the glass … those elements provide texture and color, but also, memory.
Your sentiment is right on. I can not imagine the suffering.

The sunshine masks the suffering. That contrasts very well with the story of the building.
