This is a view of Centerport Harbor from the courtyard of the Cornelious Vanderbilt mansion in Centerport, Long Island. Cornelious Vanderbilt was a railroad tycoon and played a very important role in American history as one of the “Men who built America”. He is also responsible for the beautiful Grand Central Station in New York City which was thankfully renovated and restored to its former glory.

This is beautiful!! Remind me of this song that yes, I had to look up the lyrics….
Well, it’s not far down to paradise, at least it’s not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see
Believe me…
…. I’m not sure who sings this… LOL

I’d rather be sailing too! At least I am going out on the lake today so no complaining, LB!
I love the boat framed as it is.
When my father was stationed at the War College in Newport, we got to see many of the mansions. Incredible what money can do!

Thank you Laurie 🙂 When we were up in Newport we toured the mansions too even Vanderbilts one up there which is facing South. This one is looking North. I guess when you have that much money you just have to have two mansions, one facing each way, LOL.
