Haunting

Implosion

I maximized the distortion effect of the 18mm wide angle lens by choosing this camera angle. I think it adds to the general feeling of this haunting scene. I hope you enjoy.

Fujifilm X-E2 and Fujinon XF 18mm R lens – 1/600 @ f/5.6 – ISO 200 – Black and white mode with internal red filter applied.

What makes the shot for me (well what first struck me) wasn’t the pov but the wonderful tones you have produced in the stonework.

  2. No doubt that’s haunting, even in the daylight. I can almost imagine a drape slightly moving. Is it a building in use still Joe? The spiked chimney’s against the clouds add to the ‘eeeeek’ feeling πŸ˜€

    • Thank you very much Boomdee πŸ™‚ The building which is called Coe Hall is now a museum with walk through tours. This whole property Planting Fields Arboretum which is now a NYS park belonged to a very rich individual. Here is a link to their website – http://www.plantingfields.org Have a great day πŸ™‚
